Hey South Georgia Global Methodists,
Happy New Year! I pray your 2025 is off to a blessed and joyful start. As we step into this new year, we have so much to celebrate and look forward to in our conference. Here are a few highlights that I’m especially excited about:
#1 Confirmation Retreat
Mark your calendars for the second annual Confirmation Retreat, happening February 21-23, 2025. Park Avenue Student Pastor Wesley Marshall and Missions Director Heather Croft have done a phenomenal job creating an engaging, spiritually enriching weekend for our youth.
While this retreat is not a replacement for your local confirmation class, it’s a powerful way to deepen the experience. The registration deadline is February 1, so don’t wait! Click HERE for more information.
#2 Annual Conference
We’re thrilled to gather again for Annual Conference at Epworth by the Sea, July 10-12, 2025. Preparations are already underway for another spirit-filled event.
If you’re interested in volunteering to help plan or assist during the conference, we’d love to have your support! Stay tuned as we announce this year’s theme, speakers, and schedule in the coming weeks.
We’re also excited to welcome Bishop Gregory, who will preside over her first annual conference as our bishop.
#3 General Conference Delegate Elections
This summer, during Annual Conference, we’ll elect lay and clergy delegates for the 2026 General Conference, which is planned to be held in Africa (specific location/country to be announced).
Details about becoming a delegate candidate will be shared by the end of the first quarter of the year. Please prayerfully consider serving as a delegate or encouraging others in your congregation—both laity and clergy—who could represent South Georgia well.
#4 New Room Conference
The New Room Conference has always been a highlight for South Georgia Global Methodists, and this year will be no different! It’s set for September 17-19, 2025, at Frazer Church in Montgomery, AL. If you’re planning to attend, get ready for a time of powerful worship, teaching, and renewal.
These are just a few of the exciting opportunities ahead. But the true heart of our conference is found in what God is doing through each of you—our clergy and laity—as you seek to make disciples and spread His kingdom.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, let’s continue to faithfully seek Him and His will for South Georgia in 2025.
Simply Seeking Him,
Jay Hanson
