The Audience hearing Jesus’s Teaching on the Hillside (AKA: “The Sermon on the Mount”) were:

• Jesus’s Disciples
• The Crowds (5 types of people):
  1. The Curious
  2. The Needy
  3. The Skeptics
  4. Religious Leaders or Observers
  5. The Extreme, Authoritarian, Antagonize

Jesus’s teaching is mostly for the disciples

 but also, for the various types of people in the crowd

Verses 3-16: All these teaching of Jesus are for His disciples & the committed followers of Jesus

Verses 3-6: describes many people, but Jesus’s teaching is mostly focused on the crowd types 1-4, as well as the disciples part

Verses 7-9: mostly focused on teaching the disciples who were learning to do what Jesus did

Verses 10-11: teaching about the type 4 and 5 people in the crowd and how Jesus’s disciples should react to them

Verses 13: Jesus reminds everyone both He and His Disciples (His followers) all have a Divine Purpose
